Conservation and characterization of karst water using morpho-hydrogeological methods in Pindul Cave system, Gunungsewu Karst, Java, Indonesia

Abstract Pindul Cave system is one of the essential water resources in Wonosari Basin. has a perennial flow and used to cave tubing. Administratively, this research was conducted its surrounding areas located Karangmojo District, Gunungkidul Regency. The aim are: (1) analyze underground (2) estimate catchment area using morphology approach (3) propose management action area. method study survey that divided into several stages include preparation stage, fieldwork post-field stage. stage includes site selection study, discharge measurement selection, injection dye tracer. ground check survey, measurements, tracer tests. breakthrough curve, making results based on test result show that, stream supplied from 2 sources, namely those originating surface runoff; estimated morphological 15,44 km ; Propose for are not mining upstream area, throwing garbage river, continuing apply rules with restrictions visitors accordance carrying capacity.
